Do you offer a 30-day money back guarantee?

Can I change the default EasyStat categories?

Yes, you can change the categories by editing the "templates/english/categories.dat" file. The numbers in the first column and the 3 letter IDs of each category must be unique.

Can I add my own language in EasyStat?

If your native language is not supported by EasyStat in the current version, you can add it yourself. Here's how to do it:

In the "templates" directory there is a directory called "english". Copy this directory recursively and give it the name of your native language. Now you need to modify the files within this directory and change the corresponding expressions with the ones in your language.

That's all. Now you can log in to your account and choose Account Settings -> Display Settings. The Language dropdown will include your newly created language.

Can I insert a banner image before or after each EasyStat report?

Yes, you can do that by inserting your HTML (with the banner code) in the following files:

templates/english/custom_header.html
templates/english/custom_footer.html

Can I give someone read-only access to my banner statistics?

Yes. To give someone read-only access to any of your banner groups you must point them to the login page of EasyStat and give them the following username and password:

Username: account/banner_group
Password: your banner group password

In the username, your account is first, followed by a "/" character and then by the name of the banner group you wish to give them access to. The password is from your banner group (not the password from your account). You can change the password for a banner group from the "Banner Statistics" screen, after you log in to your account.

Can I set up page views limits for free/paid accounts?

Yes. There are actually two page views limits in EasyStat. One is for the free accounts and the other one is for the paid accounts. They both refer to page views per month, i.e. if you set this limit to 1000 pageviews and the account reaches that number in one month, no other pages will be counted until the end of the month, when the account will get another 1000 pageviews, and so on.

The page view limit for the FREE accounts is located in the EasyStat Settings -> Free Accounts screen. This limit will affect the pageviews for each month, for each of the free accounts.

The page view limit for the PAID accounts is located in the "Manage Accounts" screen (with the list of accounts), and you can change it if you click on the free/paid icon on the right side of each account. This limit will affect the pageviews for each month, for that account only. It is useful if you want to set up different account types, and charge more for accounts that have many page views.

Note: This feature is only available in the Hosting and Professional licenses of EasyStat.

"Tried to open read-only file for writing, or given path is a directory: admin.log".

This error appears when EasyStat does not have enough rights to write to its own directory (cgi-bin/stats).

IIS Web Server

This usually means that the virtual directory "stats" was not properly created. This virtual directory is created at the installation by the setup program. You must run the setup program from the Administrator account, otherwise this virtual directory can't be created. Look in the admin.log file for a line that says:

Virtual directory "stats" created for "c:\easystat".

If the above line does NOT exist, please install EasyStat from the Administrator account.

If the above line does exist, then the virtual directory was successfully created. The reason why EasyStat still doesn't have write permissions in its own directory may be the fact that the I_USR_SNAME does not have permission to write to the physical "easystat" directory. This user is the user IIS runs under (the "SNAME" string is the actual name of your web server computer). Use the Properties dialog of the physical "easystat" directory to give write permissions to this user.

NOTE: This permissions must be set only if you have an NTFS file system. If your file system is FAT32 you don't have to change anything.

Apache Web Server

This usually means that the owner of the files in the "cgi-bin/stats" directory is different than the user your Apache web server runs under. Usually, Apache runs as "nobody.nogroup" but check your httpd.conf file to make sure. Then issue the following command:

chown -R nobody.nogroup cgi-bin/stats

replace "nobody.nogroup" with the user.group your Apache web server runs under.
